fee information

session fees

  • A standard 50-minute session is $245.

  • An extended 80-minute session is $390 (required for child/family assessments and couple’s therapy).

medicare rebates

  • A GP referral and mental health care plan is required to receive a medicare rebate for 10 sessions with a psychologist per calendar year, giving you a rebate of $98.95 per session.

  • You do not need a GP referral to attend Kinsight Psychology, only to receive medicare rebates.

  • Depending on your policy and coverage, your private health insurance may also cover a portion of the cost of some sessions once 10 medicare-rebated sessions have been exhausted.

  • Couple’s therapy sessions are not eligible to receive a medicare rebate.

out-of-pocket costs

  • With a current GP referral and mental health care plan, the out-of-pocket cost of a standard 50-minute session is $146.05.

workers compensation & NDIS

  • Dr Glassman is an accredited workers compensation provider and is also able to see clients on self-managed plans through the NDIS.

cancellation policy

  • As session times are in high demand, we require at least 24 business hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Except in the event of an emergency, you will be liable for the full session fee if you do not give sufficient notice. Late cancellations impact both clients who are waiting for a session and your psychologist who has prepared for your session.

  • Telehealth sessions can be offered as an alternative should you be unwell and unable to attend in person.

  • A text message reminder will be sent to you three days prior to your appointment.

frequently asked questions

how do I make an appointment?

You can call us on (02) 8998 3200 or 0458 405 470, email info@kinsight.com.au or use our contact page to enquire about booking a session. We will need to speak with you over the phone to offer you a suitable session time, collect basic information, and answer any questions you may have. We will then email you a link to complete consent and information forms online prior to your initial appointment.

We have an online booking portal that is available for existing clients to schedule appointments.

what can I expect from my first session?

In the first session, your psychologist will get to know you, your presenting concerns, and any relevant aspects of your life history, in detail. Although this session is focused on gathering information and exploring your concerns rather than beginning treatment, many people find it helpful and relieving to share their story in a supportive space with an experienced and empathetic listener. By the end of the first session, your psychologist will be able to discuss treatment options and how to proceed from there.

how many sessions will I need?

As individuals’ concerns and reasons for seeking therapy will vary, it is difficult to predict how many sessions you will need prior to meeting you. Some people benefit from short-term therapy (6 to 15 sessions), while others are better supported with longer-term therapy. Session frequency will also vary across individuals and will be discussed with your psychologist in your first session.

how does confidentiality work?

Information gathered in the provision of treatment is kept confidential and securely stored in accordance with Australian privacy legislation and professional ethical guidelines. Information about you (or your child) will not be shared with anyone outside of the practice without your written consent, except in specific circumstances required by law. These exceptions include:

  • A court legally compels the release of records (e.g., a subpoena)

  • There is a serious and immediate risk of harm to you or another person

  • There is a legal obligation to report certain matters to relevant authorities (such as mandatory reporting requirements)

If any of these situations arise, we will always aim to discuss this with you wherever possible. Outside of these exceptions, your information will only be released with your written permission.
